hi all.. I just received an email about this workshop starting on wednesday. thought it might be of interest to some of you..

Creating an Erotic Community

Individually or as partners, most women and men want a richer erotic life. What at one time may have come spontaneously, now may seem more illusive, more complex. The separateness created by our isolating society and rigged relationship models does not foster alternate models for a healthy and vibrant sexual direction. Added to this is the wearying demand of ordinary daily life.

These things and more – negative religious training, job pressure, the weight of responsibility -- tend to block the potential for a more sensually adventurous and fulfilling life. Typically, we go off on unconscious pursuits of promising fantasies that end in frustration or worse. We are often too embarrassed or too intimidated to get what we really want sensually.

This workshop is a guided exploration into the various ways of expanding your personal sexual growth. Very simply, it is an experiential seminar encouraging us to bring to our erotic adventures the same values we hold to be important in the rest of our lives – a ready humour, personal honesty, discriminating taste, mutual openness, genuine caring for others, self-confidence, a spirited imagination, and a splash of spontaneity. These values when applied to one’s erotic world can transform desired social experiences into something both physically exceptional and spiritually enlightened. From there, we may begin to shape an erotic community.

The opening evening will be an introduction of the leaders, a presentation of the up-coming weekly programs, and a time to get to know one another, encouraging a free exchange of everyone’s sexual wisdom, concerns, and follies.

About the Leaders: Beck Peacock and Carol Pharo have been partners for eighteen years. Between them they bring a wealth of training, experience and research drawn from a wide array of sexual learning sources. These include:

· Bio-energetic training with Stanley Keleman at Esalen in Big Sur.
· Membership in the Sandstone community, an experimental community chronicled in the book The Neighbor’s Wife by Gay Talese
· A two-year program of learning at Astarte (a female-lead sexual growth center),
· Several weekend workshops led by Betty Dodson, New York artist and author of Orgasms For Two.
· Sexual communication courses with the MORE Community, a San Francisco group dating back to the early 70s.
· Fifteen years of participation in American Indian Spiritual/Sexuality teachings and ceremonies with Harley Swiftdeer and the Sweet Medicine Lodge,
· Director of Petals, a documentary video featured in “The Festival of Forbidden Fruit”, a Victoria event in early May of erotic video and film art.
